Carla Bruni For Bulgari Makes Perfect Sense To Us

Carla Bruni's Latest Modeling Gig Makes Perfect Sense

C'est le retour de Carla Bruni!

The French model has been tapped as the new face of Bulgari, according to Women's Wear Daily. A source revealed to the newspaper that Carla was shot in Rome this week by Terry Richardson for the brand's haute joaillerie ad campaign.

This new gig puts her on a much better post-first lady trajectory than Mrs. Bruni-Sarkozy's last modeling stint -- headphones, anyone? Since leaving the Elysee Palace last year, the 45-year-old has re-launched her music career, guest-edited an issue of Paris Vogue and even stirred the feminist pot a bit. So we're pretty happy to see her harkening back to her supermodel roots with this forthcoming jewelry campaign.

Joining the ranks of past Bulgari faces like Julianne Moore, Rachel Weisz and Isabella Rossellini seems just a little more... bien choisi than lumping her in with Kate Upton, if you ask us. What do you think of Carla's new role? Think she'll continue to throw herself back into work?
