Victoria Beckham: No Makeup In Front Of Harper?

Victoria Beckham might be the most put-together woman on the planet -- we don't think we've ever seen her with a hair out of place or a smudgy makeup mistake. Yet it seems the fashion designer is less than eager to get her daughter, Harper, turned on to makeup.

Beckham told German magazine Icon, "I can't put on make-up when Harper’s around, because she would join me immediately. She is a tomboy towards her brothers."

Harper is just one and a half, after all -- a no-makeup policy wouldn't be out of line. But not all parents feel strongly about keeping makeup away from their daughters at a young age. The Internet was abuzz when 5-year-old Suri Cruise was spotted wearing red lipstick in 2011, and Heidi Klum's 2-year-old daughter Lou and 8-year-old daughter Leni were both spotted with red lipstick on in 2012.

In a Mommyish.com blog post published around the same time, "Mommy Confession: I Let My Toddler Wear Make-Up", mom Lindsay Cross stated simply, "I just let [my daughter] have some fun."

And yet just yesterday, Elle editor-in-chief Robbie Myers advised against early makeup-wearing: "If you start wearing makeup when you’re young, you’re going to be wedded to it. You get used to seeing your face that way and then you feel naked without it." We imagine Victoria Beckham might hold a similar opinion.

What do you think: Should little girls be kept away from makeup as long as possible, or is an early love of cosmetics just harmless fun?

With or without makeup, this kid is adorable:
