Sleep is essential, and throughout 2015, sleep studies revealed that it can affect our emotional intelligence, improve our memory and help ward off Alzheimer's. So it's a must to get a good, restful night's sleep.

These tips were put together by SleepyPeople with entrepreneurs in mind, but they can definitely apply to anyone who has trouble leaving work — and their smartphones — to get some rest.

Improving or adopting these habits can help you improve the quality of your sleep so you can be productive during your waking hours. Try restricting your bedroom to sleep alone, or introducing meditation to your nighttime routine. Any one of these tips could be just what you need to properly wind down and separate your work cycle from your REM cycle.
