Abbotsford Stabbing Rampage Injures 4

A man suspected of seriously injuring four people in a stabbing rampage in Abbotsford is expected to be charged with assault.

Neighbours and passersby called 911 around 9 p.m. on Saturday to report a "man with a knife stabbing people," said Abbotsford police Const. Ian MacDonald in a news release.

Emergency response and patrol officers rushed to the 31400 block of Springhill Court and found four adults with "various and serious stabbing injuries." They're now recovering in hospital.

Police found and arrested a man in his 30s in a basement suite, said MacDonald.

The suspect has a criminal record that includes drug charges, reported CTV News.

UPDATE - July 28, 2014: William Anton Butz, 34, has been charged with four counts of aggravated assault, said Abbotsford police. Two men, aged 19 and 35, as well as a 37-year-old woman have been discharged from hospital, while an 18-year-old female remains there in "stable and improving condition," said police.
