Albertans looking forward to a bountiful ski and snowboard season should not hold their breath, if the latest fall forecast from Accuweather is any indication.
In a forecast released today, the weather agency says an abnormally warm fall, with a stubborn high-pressure system that will keep Arctic fronts away from the region, will likely cause a late start to ski season.
As well, continued hot and dry weather into early October means the risk of wildfire across much of western Canada will continue.
Accuweather predicts the region will see an abnormally high number of days over 30 degrees this fall.
Across the county, Ontario and Quebec can expect more typical fall conditions, while northern Quebec, Labrador and the Maritimes will see some early periods of cold weather.
