Anick Gervais is the first houseguest evicted from the "Big Brother Canada" Season 2 house. That would be a rather run-of-the-mill statement if it weren't for the fact that it was a landslide eviction -- an 11-0 blowout, voted unanimously by the rest of the cast.
After her hippy-drippy Reiki Master behaviour sufficiently annoyed the other houseguests, it was clear who was going to be packing her bags. It's great to be different, and that's probably what got Anick on the show, but when you're too out there, you stand out from the pack, which isn't a good place to be on "Big Brother."
HuffPost Canada TV chatted briefly wtih Anick about her blindside and how it feels to be the first contestant leaving the house.
HuffPost Canada TV: What are your thoughts on being eliminated?
Anick Gervais: It’s a s**ty feeling. I wish I wasn’t in this position but thanks for asking. It tells me that the "Big Brother Canada" house was not ready for the Love Revolution. It also tells me that they need more 30-second hugs and that they were obviously threatened by me.
Who or what do you think was most responsible for your elimination, and why?
I think Andrew was responsible – because I wouldn't let him in my pants! And Paul. He was the puppet-master behind the scenes. Paul was threatened by the fact that I work with energies and that I have a strong connection with God.
What was the hardest thing to deal with in the "BBCan" house (person, place, thing)?
Person: The Girls clique (Ika, Heather, Rachelle, Sabrina and Neda), and not being included in that. I wasn’t included in their conversations – although I didn’t want to be because they’re lame.
Thing: Having the feeling that you’re being misunderstood.
Place: Washroom! There was no privacy there. We have bowel movements, you know? That can get really uncomfortable sometimes...
Any regrets?
I regret getting off that ice block first. It would have been interesting to see if Paul would've still put me on the block. I regret not sticking to my strategy, which was to lay low. Laying low is foreign to me. As soon as I walked into that house, my strategy was gone.
Any predictions on what’s going to happen and who’s going to take it all?
That’s really hard to say so early on in the game. You just don’t know. There’s been a big twist now; those three houseguests can see so much of what’s going on in the house. It’ll be interesting to see what they’ll do with that information when they get thrown in. I hope Andrew gets out soon and that someone with a big heart wins the show. I’m rooting for Kenny and Jon. And I hope we start seeing the true colours of the girls clique.
'Big Brother Canada' Season 2 Cast
Season 2 of "Big Brother Canada" premieres Wednesday, March 5 at 9 p.m. ET/PT on Slice, with a special presentation of the premiere also airing on Global. "Big Brother Canada" will continue to air three nights a week on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Sundays at 9 p.m. ET/PT. "The Big Brother Canada Side Show" -- new this season -- will air Thursdays, following each eviction episode, at 10 p.m. ET/PT. In case that isn't enough, "Big Brother After Dark" will air seven days a week from 2 a.m. – 5 a.m. ET/11 p.m. – 2 a.m. PT.
