What's a bear to do when the summer heat takes over? Enjoy a dip in a kiddie pool, of course.
Toshi Miyamoto of California's San Gabriel Valley saw just that when he heard his three-year-old triplets scream "big bear" on Sunday, NBC reported.
He initially thought they were talking about a recent trip to Big Bear Mountain. But sure enough, he looked outside and an ursine visitor was cooling off in the backyard pool.
Miyamoto recorded the experience as he and his children watched safely from inside the house.
“Oh my god, there is a bear Carole!” the father called to his wife in the video, as his children chattered with excitement.
Thankfully, his triplets' plans to play in the pool were cancelled that day when they decided the water was too cold, Miyamoto told NBC.
The bear eventually left over a fence, and the family went outside to take a closer look. Other than scratched up swimsuits, the furry animal left behind little damage, but gave the kids plenty to talk about.
This isn't the first time a bear has showed up in a place where it's not exactly welcome. Earlier this summer, a bear's appearance at a baseball game in Alaska ended up postponing play.
Bears are also frequently spotted in Western Canada. Just last month, a bear chased joggers in Alberta.
