The Cumberbaby has arrived! Benedict Cumberbatch and his wife Sophie Hunter welcomed a baby boy, a spokesman said on Saturday. The couple has not yet announced his name.
“Benedict Cumberbatch and Sophie Hunter are delighted to announce the arrival of their beautiful son,” Karon Maskil, the actor's rep, told Us Weekly. “We would kindly ask everyone to respect the family's privacy during these next few precious weeks.”
The birth of the couple’s son comes a day after the 38-year-old actor was honoured by Queen Elizabeth II for his work in the performing arts. The Academy Award nominee is known for “12 Years a Slave,” “The Imitation Game” and the TV series “Sherlock.”
This is the first child for the couple, who married in November 2014.
