This one is a game-changer.

When it comes to mascaras, I can never commit to just one. With so many different formulas constantly hitting shelves, I'm always curious to see if a new tube can make my lashes even better than the last.

However, I have finally found one product that I will keep in my arsenal forever, because it truly is a game-changer.

Presenting Benefit Cosmetics They're Real! Tinted Lash Primer, a.k.a. lash magic in a tube.

Ever since this mink-brown primer landed on my desk, I've been unable to go without it. It is hands-down the best primer I've ever used, thanks to its ability to keep my lashes soft and feathery, all while serving as the perfect base to boost my regular mascara's performance. While most lash primers are white in colour and instantly dry and harden on your lashes, this one makes for easy mascara application, even six hours after wearing it.

When worn alone, the primer tints and defines lashes for a very natural look, which is perfect for those days you're wearing minimal makeup. Since it is brown in colour, it's also great for ladies (and gents!) with light-coloured lashes for some extra definition.

Here's a side-by-side of my lashes with and without the primer:

Left: my lashes with the primer. Right: my lashes without

But the real magic happens when you layer your favourite mascara over top of it (in this photo, I used Maybelline's Lash Sensational, my current fave):

Left: Maybelline's Lash Sensational worn over Benefit's They're Real! Tinted Primer. Right: They're Real! Tinted Primer worn alone.

As you can see, my look longer, thicker and much more defined. And while I did use an eyelash curler pre-application, the primer does do a good job of keeping them curled.

Here's the end result:

Like I said, magic.

Benefit's They're Real! Tinted Primer is available now for $31 at Sephora and Benefit counters.
