The Best Breakfast And Brunch St. John's Has To Offer

The culinary scene in St. John’s is booming thanks to restaurants like Raymonds, Chinched, and Adelaide Oyster House and their inventive dinner menus. But that doesn’t mean that breakfast fans are left high and dry in this eastern Canadian town on the island of Newfoundland.

Local restaurants, from traditional pubs to fine-dining bistros, are offering up brunch menus that cover extensive ground, including breakfast classics and local specialties. You can enjoy the regular fare of Belgian waffles — but topped with fresh local berries. Have toutons (fried dough) topped with molasses instead of pancakes with maple syrup. And swap out that steak for seafood, which is only appropriate considering Newfoundland’s rich fishing history.

Here are 11 brunch menus you’ll want to sample while in St. John’s, whether you’re a local or a visitor. If your visit is limited, that just means you have nearly a dozen more reasons to come back.
