It may feel like a large foot is crushing you teeny tiny heart after a breakup, but it turns out the rest of your body is feeling all sorts of sensations as well.

In a recent video by Buzzfeed, the site dives into the science behind breaking up. Studies have shown looking at photos of your ex after a breakup, for example, can make your brain react both physically and emotionally.

The video also goes into why we're always so tired or stressed after a breakup and why we may feel more pain if it means the end of co-habitation. And while getting over someone isn't always easy, experts say being active, talking it out and even giving back can help you cope.
