The creators and stars of "Breaking Bad" made a triumphant final appearance together onstage at the Emmys Monday night after picking up five awards.
The AMC show took trophies for Outstanding Drama Series, lead actor (Bryan Cranston), supporting actress (Anna Gunn), supporting actor (Aaron Paul) and writing.
Vancouver-raised writer Moira Walley-Beckett took the latter award for the episode "Ozymandias," the third-to-last — often regarded as one of the best in the whole series.
She was up against series creator Vince Gilligan for his work on "Felina," the show's finale.
The only category in which "Breaking Bad" came up short was in Outstanding Directing for a Drama Series, where it lost to "True Detective's" Cary Joji Fukunaga.
In accepting his fourth acting Emmy for "Breaking Bad," Cranston said he thought about voting for Matthew McConaughey, who enjoyed bountiful praise for his performance as Rustin Cohle on HBO's "True Detective."
"I don’t know why I have been blessed with an abundance of good fortune in my life," Cranston said.
"I did happen to stumble upon finding a passion that created a seed and bloomed into something so wonderful for me. I love to act and it is a passion of mine, and I will do it until my last breath."
The awards triumph came as AMC prepares to unleash spinoff series "Better Call Saul," which is also created by Gilligan.
It is expected to premiere in 2015.
