Canada Lets Denmark Salute Fans First At World Junior Championship

Classy Canadians Let Defeated Danes Honour Their Fans First

Canada gave Denmark a rough lesson in hockey at the 2015 World Junior Championship.

The Danes were drubbed 8-0 in a Jan. 2 game that saw Canada advance to the semifinal against Slovakia.

As BuzzFeed noted, normally the home or winning team salutes the crowd alone.

But the Canadians did something very classy — as TSN pointed out, they stood back and let the defeated Denmark squad pay tribute to their fans before they could (scroll to 0:30 in the video above to see it).

Great gestures like this, and this, and this, are what truly make hockey a great game.
