Director Becomes Instant Emmys Crush

Forget Sofia Vergara—Cary Fukunaga is our new boyfriend!

The handsome "True Detective" director gained a ton of not-so-secret admirers when he hit the stage at the 2014 Emmys on Monday night to collect the award for Outstanding Directing Emmy for his work on the hit HBO series, starring Matthew McConaughey and Woody Harrelson.

The gorgeous 37-year-old set off an Internet firestorm thanks to his good looks (even though he totally deserves accolades for his body of work, which also includes the wonderful movie "Jane Eyre").

Some of his new fans weren't shy about expressing their interest in the hottie on Twitter:

Even Cary's cool man braids, which were seen up close when he showed off his award in the press room, were trending on Twitter.

The director, who's half Japanese, half Swedish, briefly dated actress Michelle Williams in 2011 and got his start in the industry working on the Destiny's Child video "Survivor."
