Charlie Sheen Prank: Montreal Radio Hosts Punk Sheen With Talk Of Sequel To The Artist (AUDIO)

LISTEN: Charlie Sheen Punked By Radio Hosts

It's hard enough to imagine Charlie Sheen staying quiet for two hours straight, let alone starring in a silent black-and-white film.

But for a moment, at least, the former star of Two and a Half Men was game for some chatter about starring in the sequel to the Oscar-winning film The Artist.

On the other end of the line was the film's award-winning actor Jean Dujardin, or so Sheen and his agent were led to believe.

"I love you Charlie! You have great talent," said the fake Dujardin. Sheen expressed his gratitude and said he wouldn't hesitate to work with Dujardin, even if it meant travelling to France.

Turns out Sheen was caught hook, line and sinker by the Masked Avengers, a Montreal comedy team whose radio show has ensnared dozens of big names, including Britney Spears and Sarah Palin, whom they famously tricked into taking their call by pretending to be French President Nicolas Sarkozy.

As the Canadian Press reports, "Dujardin" told Sheen the Artist sequel would be a comedy and its proceeds would go to good causes, including a foundation against dictators, Premier Jean Charest and the striking students in Quebec.

Marc-Antoine Audette, one half of the Masked Avengers, told CP:

"We thought, 'Why not take the identity of Jean Dujardin, who just won an Oscar, who is one of the hottest guys in Hollywood right now, and see how Charlie Sheen would react,' said Audette, who pretended to be Dujardin in the phone call."
