Christabel Nettey comes in 4th in women's long jump at world championships

BEIJING — Canada's Christabel Nettey has come in fourth in the women's long jump at the world track and field championships.

The 24-year-old from Surrey, B.C., had a best jump of 6.95 metres.

Canada had never had a finalist in women's long jump at the world championships.

Nettey won last month's Pan American Games in Toronto and came into the world championships ranked No. 2 in the world.

She competed at the 2013 worlds in Moscow, but didn't make the final.
