Journalist Christie Blatchford Leaves Globe and Mail for Postmedia

(The Canadian Press) TORONTO - Postmedia Network Canada has announced that Christie Blatchford has left the Globe and Mail to become a national columnist for Postmedia News.

Blatchford, who has worked for all four major daily newspapers in Toronto, starts her new job filing news stories and a weekly National Post column on June 13.

Postmedia president and CEO Paul Godfrey says the company is "thrilled" to have Blatchford, calling her a "game changer in the world of journalism."

She has won a National Newspaper Award for column writing and the 2008 Governor General's Literary Award in non-fiction for her book about Canadian soldiers.

Blatchford previously wrote for the National Post from 1998 to 2003 and says she is glad to be back in the fold.
