Current Swell, an indie-rock quartet from Victoria, B.C., have been building up momentum in the music world over the past decade, including winning the $100,000 Peak Performance Project in 2011.

Now the band is releasing their fifth album, "Ulysses," which was produced by Nathan Sabatino (Dr. Dog, Neko Case) and debuted last month at the SXSW music festival in Austin, Texas.

"With every album we make we always try to push ourselves to try something new," explains singer/guitarist Scott Stanton. "It was nice to be able to have more time on this record to experiment with other instruments and ideas and play with new sounds, reverbs and tones that we haven't used on previous records. Nathan helped with that on the production side. When it came time to doing the playing and tracking we didn't over think it -- just focused on being live in the studio and making sure everything recorded could be recreated live, get the energy of the songs into the live show."

"Ulysses" comes out May 6, but HuffPost Canada Music has an exclusive free album stream a week early.

Enjoy!
