Touring:
Touring the country several times has been an interesting journey for me. I've met hundreds of thousands of people and learned so much. I love meeting my fans from all over. I've also had the chance to share the stage with so many artists I look up to like Rihanna, Bruno Mars, Flo Rida and even hung out with Snoop.
The worst parts of touring are being on a bus for hours with a bunch of men, not eating for a while and really bad food. I miss waking up in my own bed too.
I've done a lot of things most people can only dream of and better yet, I have my music playing all over the world. A lot of people don't know my story but they will soon.
Studio:
I love being in the studio. It's my 'Me' time. It's a time where I get to relax, write and have such memorable experiences. Writing music gives me the freedom to say what I want.
Honestly I like to sit in a dark room alone sometimes and just get in my zone. My mind goes a mile a minute with emotions and feelings and the best stuff comes out right at that moment.
Collaborating with other artists in the studio is something every artist should do at least once. Other artists and their creativity bring out different sides of you, sides that you had no idea you had. You think of an idea, then they add to it, then you add to that and you keep building. It's crazy what two different styles can do together.
Tips When Writing Music:
Try not to use simple wording when writing, be creative with what you want to say. You can use a thesaurus to help you. I feel that when writing you get the best results when you say what's real - anyone can make up a story.
I like recording songs I have personally written the most because I'm able to tell a story and really show my emotions. I don't feel that same energy when I'm singing someone else's song.
When I'm singing about a past experience it brings me back to the exact moment. Whether I was happy, sad, angry or whatever, it comes out a lot stronger in my music compared to singing a song someone else wrote for me. It makes a huge difference.
