Daylight saving time (or daylight savings time, as we like to say) begins on Mar. 13 at 2 a.m. — and let's face it, getting up feels twice as hard after "losing" an hour of sleep.

As we spring forward and change our clocks an hour ahead, this does mean some of us across Canada may feel a little sleepy during the morning after and throughout the week. In fact, researchers at the University of British Columbia note there is a five to seven per cent increase in traffic accidents three days after spring forward, CBC reports.
