Downton Abbey Final Season Trailer Requires Tissues

"For neither you nor I can hold back time."

When executive producer Gareth Neame announced season six would mark the end of Downton Abbey earlier this year, we knew it would be sad. But now that we've caught a glimpse of what's to come, we're downright devastated.

Set to an acoustic rendition of Andrea Bocelli's "Time To Say Goodbye," the one-minute long final season trailer will leave fans feeling sentimental — and of course, wanting more.

It beings with the Earl, Robert Crawley (played by Hugh Bonneville) saying, “If I could stop history in its tracks, maybe I would. But I can't, Carson, for neither you nor I can hold back time.”

The line echoes Neame's statement regarding the show's impending conclusion.

"Inevitably there comes a time when all shows should end and 'Downton' is no exception," he said.

The period piece, which is loved by many (including the Duchess of Cambridge) won't be keeping with the times in the final season either. ET Canada reports the series will jump forward to the year 1925.

The final season begins on September 20 in the U.K. and on January 3, 2016 in Canada and the United States.
