As the world eagerly waits for the Prince of Cambridge's name to be announced, bookies are narrowing down the final few possible royal baby name ideas.
Thousands of people in Britain have placed their bets on everything from the baby boy's name to the colour of his hair. Britain's Ladbrokes, an online betting company, took 50,000 bets in the hours after the Duchess of Cambridge went into labour Monday.
The royal baby boy was born Monday at 4:24 p.m. BST (11:24 a.m. ET) and weighed in at eight pounds and six ounces. The Duchess is said to be doing well.
Last week, Ladbrokes offered 6-1 odds the baby would be named Victoria, while William Hill, another betting house offered 9-1, according to the National Post.
So far, the people of Britain are leaning towards James or George for a boy.
But it may not necessarily just be about narrowing down one name. Looking back at traditional royal names, the royal couple may have to narrow it down to three or four names.
Other popular baby boy names include John, Alfred and Philip, while Barack (with the odds of 200-1) and Elvis (500-1) don't seem to fly with royal baby-watchers.
Even some celebrities are getting into the name game. Earlier last week, U.K. soccer star and indisputable hottie David Beckham said David was a "pretty good" name for a baby boy, while the mayor of London, Boris Johnson, thought it would be appropriate to name the baby Boris — if it were a girl.
