There is more than one type of Oil in town! Those in the know can tell you a night out at an Oil Kings game will not disappoint. The 2012 WHL winners and current Memorial Cup champions boast big wins and fast paced games, all with a price tag that won't break the bank. Single game tickets start at only $18.

There's a new game in town: arena construction watching! The new home of the Edmonton Oilers is under-way, and the best place to watch this concrete giant take form is from inside one of the coolest spots in the city; the Mercer Tavern. They're serving up casual cuisine from locally sourced ingredients, in one of the oldest buildings in the Warehouse District. Try the pork shank, weighing in at over one pound and braised for over 10 hours!

Whether the Oilers are at home or on the road, the hottest new watering hole in River City is the Provincial Pub. With Woodwork and Red Ox Inn on his resume, executive Chef Cédric Boeglin, ensures that this menu will wow you, even if the home team doesn't! Pop in for game day specials that really are something special, like Happy Hour half price baby back ribs.

Only in Edmonton can you head out to the largest mall in North America for a day of shopping, and get in a good skate. From watching hockey tourneys to sharpening your skating skills, the Ice Palace boasts pristine frozen glass 365 days a year.

Speaking of sharpening your skills, there is no worse hockey foul than having dull blades! At United Cycle they are pros at blade installation and sharpening, and skate and glove repairs. They also have you covered for all your jersey needs, ensuring you are Stanley Cup ready, come June.

Did someone say Stanley Cup? In a Province that boasts "bigger is better", where every small town has a gigantic something or other, it's no surprise that the City Of Champions has the largest exact replica of Lord Stanley's cherished Cup. And it's right on the side of Gateway Boulevard, just waiting for you to snap a selfie with it!

Which leads us to the prize at the end of the Wayne Gretzky Trail. The epitome of meeting places, pre or post event. The Great One himself, Mr. 99, our hero. Hockey fans from around the world travel to Alberta's capital so they can "feel the magic" that once lived in the walls of Rexall Place and to get a pic with the beloved Wayne Gretzky Statue.
