Canadian Designer Hayley Elsaesser Creates Outfit For Miley Cyrus On 'The Voice'

The flying pigs suit was created by none other than Hayley Elsaesser.

With Miley Cyrus being one of this season's celebrity coaches on "The Voice," you can bet we'll be seeing a ton of outrageously fun outfits on the 23-year-old songstress.

But one design in particular is extra special to we Canucks, as it was created by Canadian designer, Hayley Elsaesser.

The outfit in question? Matching flying pig-printed separates.

The design, which was custom-made for the "Wrecking Ball" singer consists of a gingham moto jacket, crop top and high-waisted pants, adorned with pink pigs. Describing Cyrus as her "perfect muse," Elsaesser tells HuffPost Canada Style the former "Hannah Montana" star's love for her animals is what inspired the design.

"...I saw her on "Jimmy Fallon" wearing an airbrushed tee of her cat Shanti," explains Elsaesser via email. "I started thinking about her, how much she loves animals and how hard it must be to be away from her animals for work so often. This spurred the idea of me creating some custom prints and looks for Miley featuring a few of her many pets."

The winning number ended up being inspired by Cyrus' pig, Bubba Sue, which was worn by Miley as her look for "The Voice's" promo shots and video.

It's no surprise Cyrus is a fan of Elsaesser's designs, however (it was Miley's stylist, Simone, who initially reached out to the designer to pull some looks). The Toronto-based, Australian-educated designer is known for her loud, quirky prints and fun, colourful hues in her clothing.

Hayley is also heralded as a champion of diversity on the runway, opting to hire non-models to walk her shows at (the now-defunct) Toronto Fashion Week.

As for Miley wearing her designs, well, Hayley says she is honoured to design for the "talented woman."

"It is an amazing feeling, when you know how hard you worked on something, and how quickly you had to pull it together, that it was all worth it in the end!" she tells HuffPost Canada Style.
