Jill Scott Has Been Defending Bill Cosby -- But She Can't Anymore

She's been sticking up for Bill Cosby all this time - but she can't anymore

Musician Jill Scott has been one of the most outspoken voices defending Bill Cosby through the many allegations of sexual assault and rape faced by the comedian. But after the release of court documents yesterday detailing how Cosby gave sedatives to at least one young woman, she's finally admitted she was wrong.

Scott, who wrote extensively on social media about wanting proof that Cosby was guilty and said she was showing respect for "a man who has done more for the image of Brown people that almost anyone EVER," wrote on Monday evening that in the face of this evidence, she can't defend him any longer.

She also noted why she was sticking up for him in the first place:

She also opened up about experiencing what many people have been feeling throughout this ordeal — that a man they thought they knew (either personally or through pop culture) would be guilty of such a crime is difficult on many levels.
