Kerry Washington has a lot to celebrate in 2013.
Not only does the newlywed star on one of the most popular TV shows of the year (if you've been living under a rock, it's called "Scandal") but she's also more stylish than Kate Middleton, having just grabbed the No. 1 spot on Vanity Fair's 2013 International Best-Dressed list.
Although the "Ray" star has been on the Hollywood circuit for years (check out the adorable satin jumper she wore to "The Last King of Scotland" premiere in 2006), Kerry wasn't on our style radar until she made it big time with a starring role in Quentin Tarantino's 2012 movie "Django Unchained." After that, she slayed the red carpet in equestrian print ballgowns, glamorous floral dresses and sexy cut-out frocks.
In another coup, Washington became the first black woman in six years to score a Vanity Fair cover with their August 2013 issue.
Other fashionable mavens who made the cut are new mom the Duchess of Cambridge, J Crew head honcho Jenna Lyons, China's First Lady Peng Liyuan, Beyoncé, LeBron James, Justin Timberlake and Victoria Beckham.
Surprisingly, First Lady Michelle Obama didn't make the list for the second year in a row! We think Olivia Pope would have something to say about that!

No wonder why Kerry Washington made No. 1:
