Laverne Cox is unstoppable!
Following her Allure magazine shoot, the 31-year-old "Orange Is The New Black" star is taking a fancy trip to a diner for a spread in Nylon magazine's August 2015 issue.
In one of the shots photographed by Felisha Tolentino and styled by Sean Knight, the transgender actress wears a pink Celine sweater and Citizens of Humanity shorts while munching on some French fries. Her legs are stretched out off the edge of the diner booth chair, with black pumps dressing up her look.
In another, she sips on a milkshake, while gazing into the camera, sunglasses perched at the tip of her nose.
Laverne's makeup consists of long lashes, cat eye liner and white eye shadow. Her face is expertly contoured and highlighted, and glossy lips finish off her beauty look.
In the accompanying interview, the #TransIsBeautiful advocate speaks out about the excessive focus on transgender women's appearances, something she has had to come to terms with on her own.
"So many people on my social media pages say, 'You’re gorgeous,' and who doesn’t like hearing that? But it made me think: Are people saying I’m beautiful for a trans person? Are they saying I’m beautiful because they couldn’t tell I’m trans? I mean, you can find blogs where people are like, 'Laverne Cox is drop-dead gorgeous,' and there are other blogs saying I have 'linebacker proportions.'"
She also opens up about her decision to forgo cosmetic facial feminization surgery.
"Years ago I wanted to have the kind of cosmetic facial feminization surgery that Caitlyn [Jenner] has made popular in terms of people's understanding. But I didn't have the money to do it," she explains. "I'm so blessed and grateful that I didn't because I would look completely different. I've had to learn to love and accept all those things about me that make me distinctly trans: my broad shoulders, my big hands and feet, my deep voice."
