Macklemore's 'Thrift Shop' Might Be The Best Song Ever About Vintage Shopping (VIDEO)

Is This The Best Song Ever About Vintage Shopping?

Seattle rapper Ben Haggerty, aka. Macklemore, may have written the best song ever about vintage shopping.

'Thrift Shop,' a single off his debut full-length album the Heist is a tribute to the thrill, the struggle of finding amazing things at your local Goodwill, Salvation Army or Value Village.

Some lyrics from the song:

"I’mma take your grandpa style, no for real, ask your grandpa

Can I have his hand-me-downs? Velour jumpsuit and some house slippers

Dookie Brown leather jacket that I found digging"

The video has Macklemore and collaborator Ryan Lewis romping through various thrift stores in the Seattle area in some amazing outfits. Tiger-print coat with a massive fur collar? Check. Zip-up Batman onesie with a Davy Crockett hat? Damn, right. It's also ridiculously catchy.

He also loves his fans and ran a contest to see which of them could put together best thrift-shop outfit. The winners got to attend the premiere of the video.

Speaking of the video, "Thrift Shop" has almost seven-million views on YouTube and their album hit no.1 on iTunes earlier this week. So you'll probably be hearing a lot more from Macklemore in the near future. We think that's a good thing.
