Marilyn Manson may press charges after he was punched in the face while enjoying a late-night meal at a Denny's restaurant in Lethbridge, Alta. last weekend, his manager has confirmed.
Manson's manager told TMZ the shock rocker was approached by two females in the restaurant on April 5, asking for a photo. While he was posing the photo, a man approached the singer, hit him, and ran away.
His manager says he did not make a rude comment to either of the females, as was originally reported by TMZ.
Eyewitness Johnny Scott said Mason was "being friendly with everyone" and said the attack was unprovoked.
"Anyone who wanted a picture, he would give them a picture, anyone who wanted an autograph he would give them an autograph.
“They were just talking and the guy just punched him right in the face without any provocation.” he told the Calgary Sun.
According to Scott, Manson's bodyguard chased the suspect outside.
The Lethbridge Regional Police Service confirmed to Global News that they were called to an incident at Denny's at about 2:45 a.m. following reports of a fracas, but did not say whether Manson was a party to the fight.
The physical exchange involved three people and there were minor injuries, they said, but no charges have been laid.
Manson performed Saturday night at the Enmax Centre in Lethbridge.
