3 Signs Your Marriage Could Use Therapy

You live in your relationship every day, so it's not always easy to tell when certain longstanding issues are becoming real, could-break-us-up problems. But you needn't wait until it gets to that point either, advises relationship expert Andrea Syrtash in the video above.

Syrtash points out there are many elements that can be difficult in any relationship, but there are a few behaviours that can demonstrate a real divide in a couple. Marriage counselling, she says, can help stop it before it gets any worse.

There's been some debate among experts as to whether marriage counselling can actually help once problems rear their ugly heads, and as Huffington Post blogger Terry Gaspard notes, you really do need to be committed in order for it to have an effect. Couples for whom the problems have become too ingrained, for example, may not get anything out of it.
