Miley Cyrus may have caused the biggest MTV VMA controversy in recent memory, but she was following in the footsteps of many pop stars who bared skin before her. And so while everyone and their dog are recreating her VMA moment this Halloween (we're assuming there are many dogs wearing Robin Thicke pinstripes today) Miley dug back a bit further to Lil' Kim's boob-tastic outfit from 1999.

If you recall, Lil' Kim came out with but a purple pasty covering one of her breasts, which may have made less of a commotion if Kim's co-presenter Diana Ross had been able to resist feeling her up at the podium. But she couldn't, so watch out Miley people will probably be trying to Ross you all day. Lil' Kim among them, apparently.
