NHL's First Gay Kiss Cam Had The Crowd Going Wild

"History will be made."

The NHL loves to say that "history will be made" at its games.

But this time, history wasn't made on the ice — it happened in the stands during a game between the Toronto Maple Leafs and the L.A. Kings at the Staples Center.

A video posted to Twitter by journalist (and Huffington Post contributor) Greg Hogben reportedly shows the first gay kiss cam in NHL history.

The excitement is palpable as partners Andy Evans and Brad Parr lean in for a kiss — and the crowd's cheers only became louder as it went on.

"It was a particularly sweet night since the Kings were playing and beat my hometown Toronto," Parr told LGBT sports website Outsports.

Last year, the MLB played host to another same-sex, on-camera smooch at an L.A. Dodgers game.

That moment happened years after two women were kicked out of a Dodgers game for kissing.

Progress will be made ... on the kiss cam, apparently.
