Riverview Hospital Video Is Spooky Even In Daytime

WATCH: Abandoned Mental Health Hospital Is Spooky

The largely abandoned Riverview Hospital in Coquitlam, B.C. is a popular filming location for TV shows ("The X-Files," "Supernatural," "Fringe") and movies ("The Possession," "Watchmen").

But when there are no film crews, the former mental health hospital is a creepy place, even in the daytime. A YouTube video uploaded last month shows a drone's view of the dilapidated buildings and shadowy grounds. We don't want to imagine the same tour at night.

Especially the underground tunnels that connect buildings on the property.

Someone who filled in as a janitor there after the hospital closed wrote on YouTube:

"Scariest thing i've ever done in my life hands down.

its 100% haunted i'll never forget those times.. walking in the very top floor down this long hallway, doors on each side which used to be for patients.. that floor hadn't been in use for years, noone up there except me.. but i ALWAYS heard sounds like snickering.. laughing, whispering.. watching this video gives me the chills and flashbacks to those times.. its haunted no doubt. i just wish smartphones existed back then i would have recorded it.

oh yah.. and the underground tunnels, or watever they are called that went between the buildings.. creepiest shit EVER.. especially when ur alone. i would go through those so fast... i would always hear noises but didn't dare look back just kept walking..

Riverview closed in 2012 and has sat largely empty, except for three small mental health facilities. The B.C. government is currently holding public open houses to determine what should happen to the 100-hectare site, reports CBC News.

The Heritage Canada Foundation named Riverview as one of the top 10 most endangered heritage sites in Canada in 2012.
