Target Canada Opening: Blake Lively And Sarah Jessica Parker Stun Toronto Crowd (PHOTOS)

Blake Lively, Sarah Jessica Parker Wow At Target Canada Launch In Toronto

Who'd have ever thought Serena van der Woodsen and Carrie Bradshaw would meet in a Target -- in east-end Toronto?

But it happened: TV A-listers Blake Lively and Sarah Jessica Parker were among the celebrity guests the opening of a Target Canada store in Toronto on March 27.

The "Sex And The City" fashionista and the "Gossip Girl" star joined other celebs on the red carpet including Canadians Elisha Cuthbert, rapper Kardinal Offishall and singer Karl Wolf at Shoppers World Danforth.

Invitees to the exclusive event included selected media, journalists, style editors and bloggers.

Ever the style maven, Parker looked stunning even in a casual outfit. The actress wore a button-up sheer pin-dotted blouse underneath a black blazer and accessorized with giant pink and red flowers a la Ms. Bradshaw. She completed the look with white jeans and sleek, straight blond locks.

Blake Lively (or should we call her Mrs. Ryan Reynolds?) still had that newlywed glow in a sheer cap-sleeved top over a white dress with watercolour designs. The actress was all smiles as she answered questions on the red carpet, sans hubby (Guess he's still stuck in Sudbury, Ont., filming his new movie.)

News that Blake would be attending the star-studded opening was leaked by National Post social columnist, Shinan Govani, who tweeted the information to his followers earlier in the day. But Parker was a surprise guest who didn't disappoint.

Representing homegrown style, Calgary-born actress Elisha Cuthbert (of TV show "Happy Endings") wowed in a black lace dress with a purple underlay. She finished off her look with dark lipstick and slicked back hair.

This Toronto Target location is the latest of many to open in Ontario, with 24 new stores now open in the province.

Shoppers who are hoping to get the same bargains as in the U.S. may be a bit disappointed since the prices in the Canadian stores are a bit more expensive than their American counterparts but Target Canada president Tony Fisher says that Canadians are still welcome to shop south of the border.

But who needs south of the border when we have SJP?
