Thousands of kids in need will be getting a teddy bear this Christmas thanks to Calgary Hitmen hockey fans.

On Sunday, the WHL hockey team held its 19th annual Teddy Bear Toss.

This year fans tossed almost 26,000 bears on to the ice after Pavel Padakin scored the team's first goal of the game in the second period.

The fans weren't the only ones enjoying the toss. It looks like many of the Calgary Hitmen players also enjoyed the charity promotion.

The bears will be donated to charities including the Cerebral Palsy Association, Salvation Army, Boys and Girls Clubs, and the Alberta Children's Hospital.
