As we wait for the 2015 MTV Video Music Awards on Sunday, August 30, we thought it'd be a fitting time to take a look back at the VMAs of years past. After all, some of the wildest, most outrageous red carpet outfits ever were debuted at the awards show, inspiring many more crazy ensembles thereafter (ie. Rose McGowan's naked dress and Lil' Kim's nipple pasties).
And while some of the looks were indeed questionable, we have to give every single one of these celebrities credit for being brave enough to wear these ensembles on the red carpet. After all, if fashion isn't meant to be fun, then what is it really for?
