The claim of Toronto base group "Canadians against Bloodshed" that Zionist plots are behind recent massacre of Hazara community Shias in Balochistan province of Pakistan is bizarre and shocking.
The poster of this protest clearly reads "Long live Shia Sunny Unity -- Down with Zionist plots." The organizers and speakers of a previously heard group "Canadians against Blasphemy" and now "Canadians against Bloodshed" are the same people.
"Canadians against Blasphemy" happened to stage a rally outside the U.S. Consulate in Toronto last September in the wake of worldwide protests against the infamous Innocence of Muslims movie trailer.
In that protest they distributed the flyer amongst the participants that stated in caps, "THE JEWISH PURPOSE THUS SERVED."
One would wonder what's the motive of same group of organizers with two different names? The group now with a different name "Canadians against Bloodshed" put the responsibility of Shia killings to "Zionist Plot."
It clearly shows that the group's ulterior motive is to create hatred against Jews locally in Toronto.
That behaviour should be unacceptable. Unfortunately, there is a blurry line between anti-zionism and anti-semitism.
The groups and people carrying with hatred of Jews sometimes use "Zionist Plots" sort of connotations in order to show their contempt tactfully.
But apart from this debate, what was the logic of using "Zionist Plots" theory behind Hazara Community Shias' massacre in remote province, Balochistan of Pakistan?
Does that theory sympathize Hazara community's sorrows and pain inflicted on them by Taliban affiliated Lashkar-e-Jhangavi terrorist group in Pakistan that took the responsibility of recent carnage too?
Of course, not. Rather, such theorists and groups take side of the killers by not pointing directly blood on their hands.
The sectarian violence, political upheavals and the presence of state and non-state sponsored terrorist organizations in Pakistan is already putting the country top on news shelves all across the world.
The Shia killing in Pakistan has nothing to do with so-called "Zionist Plots."
Zionists and Jews have nothing to do with ongoing genocide of Shias and recent massacre of Hazara Shias in Balochistan. Pakistan army backed Lashker-e-Jhangavi and alike are killing Shias in Pakistan for decades and the Lashker-e-Jhangavi took the responsibility of this recent massacre as well.
It's time to confront such extremists and theorists amongst us in Canada who high jack every occasion of sorrow and who put blames of our own illnesses to Jews and rest of the world.
A first ever formed Muslim Committee against Anti-Semitism in Toronto is holding a seminar next month to challenge such conspiracy theorists' attempts to distract Muslims from their real problems.
That would be a good beginning of confronting a tiny majority of Islamists by silent majority of ordinary Muslims in context of curbing anti-Semitic behaviours prevailing amongst us.
