Pet owners are always on the lookout for dangerous items that can get eaten up by their furry friends, but one of the most harmful things for cats and dogs might actually be found in the home.
In the infographic below by Pots Planters + More, we discover 12 toxic household plants that are the most common causes of emergency calls to the ASPCA. From lilies to oleanders to foxglove and sago plum, this chart indicated which parts of the plant are most harmful and what signs to look out for in your animal companion.
If you suspect your pet has been poisoned, the experts at Pet Poison Helpline recommend removing your pet from the danger zone immediately and ensuring your pet is breathing normally. Once you have secured your pet, collect a piece of the suspicious item for examination and go to a vet or emergency clinic. Do not try home remedies and do not attempt to induce vomiting without checking with the vet.
