When Nicki Minaj graced the cover of Cosmopolitan magazine in July, she told women everywhere they needed to start demanding the big O. A month later, the How To Make Me Come Tumbler account was created. A coincidence? Maybe. A worthwhile read? Absolutely.
The account compiles 71 anonymous essays by women. "We reached out to some friends. They reached out to some friends. They reached out to some friends… People began to immediately respond with intense affirmation and stories of their own," the site explains. And no two are alike. One reads like a recipe with the ingredients listed as "you, me, a soft bed" followed by 17 very detailed steps. Another recalls a Tinder date that was full of potential but which ultimately failed to help the writer reach her finish line.
And some are just a few words of wisdom, like number 40, which reads, "Making a woman come is like making grilled cheese — low heat for a long time will melt beautifully, high heat right away will just burn the bread before anything good happens inside."
Of course, writing about what you want isn't the same as asking for it. So ladies (and gents) be sure to talk to your partner. And not just about what turns you off and on. Sex therapist Petra Zebroff recommends starting with simple things, like what sex means to each of you.
