Conrad Black was once the world's third biggest newspaper magnate. Then he lost his newspapers and spent three years in an American prison for fraud and obstruction of justice. During that time he wrote a book, A Matter of Principle. Now he's in England flogging the book. Highlight so far is his interview on the BBC TV program Newsnight with acerbic host Jeremy Paxman. Talk about a clash of egos.
Andrew Mitrovica has decided to inflict himself on the Huffington Post in an attempt to attack a number of Canadian cultural and journalistic figures who have been publicly well-disposed to me. Unfortunately for Mitrovica, this seems to be just the hackneyed effort of a minor personality seeking some grandeur for himself.
The press release announcing my resignation from Hollinger was on the wires the Monday morning after my decision. Murdoch's New York Post became the outlet for every fictional tale of my enemies and then some enthusiastically invented by the Post itself.
