Dear Amanda, Happy 18th birthday, honey! I have to say that although each day and year passing that you are gone it has been hard but this year seems to be harder than the others. This year will be more contributions to your legacy that will have impact. This is your graduating year. An event that you talked about and looked forward to since you were in grade school.
In the past 20 months, my journey has been filled with meeting a variety of people. The majority are thoughtful, kind and compassionate. This is a letter that I found in my inbox that "fills the bucket." I believe that words and writers like this deserve to be shared.
I am sure many around the world have read the headlines. Never in my wildest dreams would I have ever thought that Amanda's alleged perpetrator would be found in the Netherlands.
Dear Amanda, Happy Valentine's Day! I can remember all the times watching you write out your V Day cards and scrunching up your face when licking the back of the envelopes. After card #15, you couldn't stand the taste. Thanks Amanda for putting a fire under your mom and all the others who care.
I woke up today to the headlines about the story of Rebecca Sedwick in Florida and that two girls had been charged with the cyberharassment that was endured. It makes me wonder again how kids can be that mean and cruel towards others. I always wonder -- do their parents know?
I wonder how many people know that October 10 is World Mental Health Day all over the world? This also happens to be the same date that I lost the ability to laugh and cry with my daughter in real time. From here on in, I will work to bring awareness to mental health issues on this date. I invite all those who want to help do this each year by Lighting Up Purple for World Mental Health Day.
Back from WE DAY Toronto 2013. What a fantastic event. To be able to listen to the speakers and absorb what they had to say was pretty amazing. And then feeling the energy in the building with over 20,000 youth present. It was certainly one of those magical moments. Although I don't always feel the spiritual world around me, I did feel Amanda's presence at We Day Toronto.
On Saturday, it will be 10 months since my daughter, Amanda, left us. I am trying to keep myself busy so I don't feel that dark cloud come upon me as it does every month. I am excited to meet all the people who have come into my life in the past 10 months. They all have made a difference and that's what it is all about. They rally around and support and make change. I am so happy to finally meet, hug, say hello and share stories. These are all warm and giving people.

We are a community of concerned citizens in British Columbia, including Amanda Todd's mother. As you may know, Amanda was contacted and blackmailed through Facebook by an adult predator who impersonated local teens to enter her circles of friends. We appeal to you as COO of Facebook, a mother, a visionary digital media leader, and member of the board of The Walt Disney Company, to lead industry-wide adoption of systemic security to block predators and abusers from accessing kids on major social media platforms, starting with Facebook itself.

This year we see one issue weighing on young people more than any other: bullying. After the event, we shared a moment with the mother of the B.C. teen who had taken her life to offer our condolences. The grieving mother told us she hoped her daughter's tragedy would prove a tipping point. We believe it has.
With the recent, tragic, and unnecessary death of bullying victim Amanda Todd, I believe that it is time to talk about suicide openly. Having the nation begin to talk about bullying and suicide prevention should have happened a long time ago. I am sad that it has taken an end to a life to begin talking about suicide so openly but it is something we must talk about to prevent it.

In reading about the tragic case of Amanda Todd, I was unable to find a single news source prepared to follow the evidence to its logical conclusion -- that she was the victim of male sexual violence. Here on display was the familiar and rank hypocrisy by which women are routinely sexualized and then attacked for their supposedly wanton ways. .
