One of the most remarkable things about my pregnancy is how I started noticing how women everywhere were being out of their way nice to me. No more sideways "up and down" looks.
She plays Rebecca Romijn in the Lifetime production.
Most people know me as a model and have seen some of my work but way before I ever entered the world of modelling, I was an actress (and a personal trainer, a publicist, a bartender.
I have, in some ways, been very fortunate from a physical point of view with being given a body and face that society has deemed pretty enough to model professionally, but I still have zits and stretch marks and moles and insecurities.
The funny thing about today's cattle call casting was that the girls were all hanging out in the lobby of the Mondrian Hotel in bikinis. The girls were checking each other out, as well as guests and staff practically walking into walls with all these beautiful women half naked in the lobby. It was so random but so funny to observe and be part of! A teenage boy's dream!
Victoria's Secret wanted to meet with me -- I almost fainted at the thought! It was a girl's dream come true. I barely slept and I woke up with the world's largest pimple, probably the biggest one I have ever had. I was told to strip down and stand against this white wall where multiple photos were taken of me while these two ladies went through my portfolio.
I went from a girl working 9-5 and trying to find her place in the world to a well-recognized Canadian model whose campaign with Guess led to a whirlwind of international media attention. Now I get to do a lot of fun things and get paid for it. And everyday I am very thankful to be in this position. I don't take any day for granted.
