We all know one.
No, I am not an idealist who sees Canada through rose-coloured glasses. We're not perfect by any means. We have mistakes to correct and amends to make. We have work to do. But would we ever succumb to the toxic rhetoric of a sleaze ball like Donald Trump? Would we let a dangerous lunatic like him drag our country through the mud, making a mockery of everything we stand for, making us the laughing stock of the world, putting everything we hold dear at risk, turning us against each other, turning us against our allies?
Thanksgiving is a holiday that is meant to be about giving thanks and reconnecting with friends and family. However, sometimes when we actually sit down at the dinner table we lose that spirit of thankfulness and things move in a less than civil direction.
Holiday season has officially arrived and we know how difficult it can be to put together a wonderful crowd-pleasing menu that all of your guests will enjoy, so we decided to put one together for you. Yes, you heard right! Now the pressure is off, and all you have to do is round up the ingredients and get cooking these heavenly recipes.
Aside from the ludicrous notion that anyone other than Canada's Native population is truly "old-stock Canadians," there is a certain divisive, chamber-pot snobbery to the term. It's not a celebration of "lineage," it's a wedge. It has no use other than to separate the speaker from others. Without even having to wonder why it was never used in our house, I know that my parents would have considered it vulgar. We are all "old-stock" Canadians, no matter where we're from, or how recently we've arrived.
Stuffing for the win.
What are you thankful for?
Because anything that can go wrong ... will go wrong.
Thanksgiving is about celebrating and giving thanks for our wonderful families and the other gifts in our lives. Regardless of what's on the menu, where you serve it or how you eat it, the key to a perfect Thanksgiving meal is to focus on our gratitude and on being together with our most precious gifts, our family and friends.

Thanksgiving is all about family, but part of being a generous relative is not imposing, particularly if you have kids in tow.
