Goodbye, Toronto, hello... North Bay?
Debt is high, savings are low, and Canadians are on edge.
The drop is good news.
But Vancouver is still Canada's priciest city, for now.
People have been asking me what it costs to live in Bali, so I put together this post to breakdown the numbers for inquiring minds that want to know. Because Bali was home, not a place I toured, I can give you a legitimate breakdown. A one month breakdown that is.
The people of B.C. are waking up, big time. I'm sure this scares the hell out of Clark, who might finally be coming to the realization that every scandal, misstep or moronic statement can't be fixed with a smiling photo op in a hard hat.
How many times did we hear the media complain that the Conservatives used talk points all the time, often reading them from prepared scripts? We are now starting to see the Liberals doing the same thing. When asked about the need to get our downward spiraling economy moving, Trudeau's stock answer was, "We are going to do this right. We are going to do this responsibly." The only thing lacking was a piece of paper while he read the answer. For the party that promised to do things differently, it is much of the same. We haven't seen anything concrete to address the sinking dollar or get the economy moving.
The Canadian dollar has been declining against the U.S. dollar for the last several months. The depreciation of the Canadian dollar has corresponded with the fall in oil price. Overall, the depreciating Canadian dollar would have different effects on various sectors of the economy.
