fitness tips
You can change your bad habits.
If you're feeling lethargic, if you're self-deprecating every time you put shorts on, if you just feel "gross," it's time to re-focus and get back on track.
It's not a numbers game.
In a fitness culture that still toes the "bigger, faster, farther and heavier is better" line, many of us end up pushing ourselves far beyond what is necessary to achieve functional strength, often risking injury to do so. How can we evolve our mindset to optimize our exercise routine?
Are you constantly on and off your fitness horse? Instead of getting back on and hoping for different results, rethink your strategy. Ask yourself, "What has and has not worked in the past?" Pinpoint the valuable lessons and work to reproduce successful approaches. Abandon anything else.
Doing this simple thing can actually boost your fitness goals.
Expect your warmup routine to take a little longer at first when you start adding in these exercises. But after you run through them a few times it will take you no longer than 10 minutes to complete. If 10 minutes is still too long for you to spend on a proper warm-up, think about this:
Focus on duration first, intensity second.
Push harder, run faster and feel that stretch.
It is summer, and our thoughts and bodies lead us to the great outdoors. When you're outside enjoying the fresh air and sunshine, sometimes the last thing you want to do is pack up a gym bag and head into a climate-controlled (or hot and sweaty!) gym for a workout.
