Winnipeg is a little rough-around-the-edges, but if you stop and look around, you'll see that there's so much beauty and history to take in. You may know my city for some good things, and probably some bad things, too. But the truth is that the music scene is the heartbeat of Winnipeg.
A couple months ago after a Classified show in Edmonton, I ran into a fan. He looked at me, amazed, and said: "Hey, aren't you the guy who plays the nerd in the video?" I sure am. I don't play the nerd, I AM the nerd. I'm now living a bit of a double life.
In the 24 hours since I touched down in Regina for the Juno awards, I've been overcome by the stark landscape, the kindness of the locals and the strength of the alcohol in my body. I'm hungover. I found myself at the Juno reception which was held at a Mountie training facility. There were Mounties everywhere.
