The term apartheid in reference to Israel is by no means uncommon within Israeli society itself. In Canada, however, the term has been the subject of enormous controversy, where Israel's advocates have expressed outrage towards use of the label, and have made consistent efforts to disparage both the phrase "Israeli apartheid" and those who dare to utter it.
Far-right Sun TV invited me to debate "whether or not Canada's main stream media has a left-leaning bias." Then warning flags went up. What if they wanted to tar and feather me for some of the nasty things I've written about them? Or for being soft on the CBC? Or less-than-reverent to the Queen? I accepted.
Today I hit the Sun News website looking for yesterday's other shows. But I couldn't find any. I admit I'm no techno-geek. So maybe it's my fault I couldn't find screenable archives. Best I could do was find previews of "stories we're working on right now." If someone from Sun would care to contact me, steer me towards anything it considers a flagship news show, I would be pathetically grateful.
Frank Dimant's unbelievable defense of Coren has given him license to vilify me non-stop on his TV show while simultaneously defending the "saintly" Pope Pius.
Despite what Mark Steyn says about the U.S. as a nation of debt carriers, it still has more aircraft carriers than any country and can protect itself. The essential strength of America is that it's a free country with free speech and economic opportunity. And it's filled with Americans.
