Norwegian culture is a thread woven through the cloth of my Canadian childhood, and I am heartened, proud even, of Norway's stalwart response to the attacks. But it's easy for an idealist like me to get disillusioned by the endless problems we seem to face these days. How are we going to fix this?
Children will immediately try to put tragedies like the Norway attack in a context relevant to their own lives. Will this happen to me? This means that it is important to provide information that manages anxiety and fosters compassion.
We have pockets in the world that gives value to the currency of terrorism. How can the international community make those who have the currency of terrorism directly or indirectly pay?
