WATCH: 10 Life Lessons Shah Rukh Khan Gives In This Heartwarming Speech To Graduating Students

WATCH: These Are SRK's 10 Life Lessons To Graduating Students

When Shah Rukh Khan was invited to address the graduating batch of Dhirubhai Ambani International School, his speech probably left everyone inspired. At the graduation ceremony for the school's 2016 batch, chief guest Shah Rukh, 50, made an inspiring speech. But when it's King Khan, it can't be without quite a few chuckles.

Khan shared anecdotes from his life--and the gifts his father used to give him. A chess, a typewriter and a camera that didn't work.

He spoke about the time he wrote "rubbish poetry" and even took a dig at US Presidential candidate Donald Trump.

Here are the 10 lessons that Khan gave in his inspiring speech:

1. Listen to your inner voice, and never let anyone tell you who you are or who you ought to be.

2. These are the only years in your life you will be allowed to make regret-free mistakes.

3. When you are 50, you will know that the bulk of your regrets are from not having done what you wished to do.

4. All us parents try to make you happy with your choices by annoying you with ours, that are your choices anyway. You just don't know it yet.

5. When I was 10, my father gave me an old chess set. The first thing it teaches you that every move has its consequences. Not a single moment of living is empty. Sometimes in order to move forward, you need to take a few steps back. Don't always choose which is more desirable if something tells you it's going to get you into a whole lot of trouble.

6. Don't forget the little ones--the small pawns. Life is like that. If you are foolish enough to imagine that the little graces you are given are of no value, you end up nowhere. When you look around you, learn to look at the tiniest things that make your life special and privileged.

7. Taking your blessings for granted is the most stupid thing to do.

8. As an adult I have come to understand that there is nothing of more value that your diligence and your capacity to work hard.

9. Whatever you are doing, do it once. Then do it one more time even more carefully. Be diligent. Don't just work, outwork yourself.

10. Learn to laugh at yourself. It makes you braver to face ugliness because it changes your perspective. It's like a talisman for survival.

Watch the speech above.
