Days after HuffPost Indiareported grave allegations of sexual assault against director Vikas Bahl, his former partners at Phantom Films, Anurag Kashyap and Vikramaditya Motwane, have stepped down from the board of the Mumbai Film Festival.
The festival's board consists of key people from the film industry such as Siddharth Roy Kapur, Kiran Rao, Anupama Chopra, Zoya Akhtar, Rohan Sippy and others.
Motwane, who was also supposed to be on the jury of one of the sections at the upcoming festival, will no longer be on it, a source confirmed.
HuffPost India reached out to festival director Anupama Chopra and creative director Smriti Kiran for comment but they haven't responded yet.
Meanwhile, Kashyap tweeted on Wednesday morning:
In an interview with HuffPost India, Kashyap had said he "failed" the survivor who was assaulted by Bahl in 2015.
